Terms and Conditions of Internet Scoping School

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

By enrolling in/paying for any portion of a course offered by Internet Scoping School, you are agreeing to abide by the Confidentiality and Refund Agreements and Rules of Conduct as listed below.  You must scan and email the document to lindae@scopeschool.com, or mail printed and signed document to address of the school:  156 Indian Prairie Loop, Stevensville, MT  59870.

You will not be given admittance to the course materials until this document has been  received by the administrator.  Signing this document signifies that you have read and agree to the following:

CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT

Course Confidentiality
I realize that the fee paid to Internet Scoping School constitutes a onetime, one-person user license. I agree to neither share nor disseminate any course materials to any other person without express consent of the course instructor, Linda Evenson, Internet Scoping School.

E-mail/Post Confidentiality
I realize all e-mails and posts written within the Internet Scoping School student/graduate group and the ISS Forum are considered confidential. Before  copying any post or e-mail to anyone outside the ISS group, I will first obtain permission from the author of the post and from the Course Administrator.

Practice File Confidentiality
Although I am aware that names have been changed to protect the parties, I nevertheless agree to keep the confidentiality of all court reporter files, whether partial or complete, realizing that they are taken from actual cases.

ISS RULES OF CONDUCT

“Disorderly conduct” is a violation that prevents the orderly and peaceful operation of the school. 1. Be polite and kind: Remember the manners your mother taught you. There is no need to be rude or unkind. It takes no more time to be courteous than it does to be impolite. 2. ISS has a zero-tolerance policy on disorderly conduct in any form by any person connected with this program. 3. This course is self-taught: Students are responsible for learning the material from the IVTs, the ISS lessons, and the Facebook pages. If you are having trouble with a concept, first, go back to the beginning of the lesson and follow instructions carefully. If you still have issues, please contact the instructor at lindae@scopeschool.com. When you paid for this course, you paid for access to Linda’s experience and expertise, so don’t be shy about it. 4. Instructor Time: Having said that, please do not abuse my time. Keep in mind that I need to respond to all emails, support all students, correct tests, and numerous other duties. If one student monopolizes my time, other students will suffer as a consequence.  5.  The ISS Pages:  The ISS Facebook pages are solely for the purpose of discussing scoping, answering questions, and posting information pertaining to ISS.  Any posts dealing with other topics or promoting other businesses are a violation of the rules and will be removed.  After one warning, the poster will be removed from the group.  6. Violation of the Rules: The penalty for violating rules is at the instructor’s sole discretion and can include anything from a verbal reprimand to expelling a student with no refund.

ISS REFUND POLICY

Internet Scoping School offers a course in which you enroll, not a product you purchase and can just return. It is also completely unique because the minute you enroll, you will have lifetime access to the updated course content for life. (For payment plans, this is valid only if you continue to make your payments.)  After access is granted, due to the sensitive, proprietary nature of the copyrighted content, it is the policy of Internet Scoping School not to refund enrollment fees for any reason.

When a student signs up with Internet Scoping School, his/her enrollment is considered a contract:  It is assumed that students are serious about this training and about beginning a new career as a scopist. Students pay a fee to have the training provided to them on the Internet and to have ongoing student/graduate support. The school fulfills its end of this contract by ensuring the training and support are accessible to students; they fulfill their end by availing themselves of the training and support and embarking on a new career.

Caution
If you as a student chose the one-time payment option (or if you pay for any sections in advance) the assumption is you did so because you were sure scoping is what you wanted to do and you wanted to take advantage of any savings that may have been offered.   If you are not sure that you have the desire and determination to complete the whole course, do not pay for the whole course up front.  Please take this seriously.

Some students have treated the fee as though it were a savings account from which money could be withdrawn anytime they needed some extra cash. That is not true. It is tuition you’ve paid for your education, just as if you were attending a college or vocational school.  If you choose not to show up for class and fulfill your end of the bargain, you cannot expect to have your money refunded.  If you decide to come back and take the training at a later time, you will, of course, be given access to the sections for which you have paid.

If your circumstances warrant, at the total discretion of the instructor, you may receive a partial refund.  Since you are breaking your contract with the school which was based upon you taking all of the sections in which you enrolled, any special pricing/discounts you received will be charged back against your account at the a la carte prices; you will be billed for any section if you have accessed it in any way; a $100 administrative fee will be charged; any fees that Stripe assessed to process your account will be deducted since neither one of us gets that money.

If you choose to cancel your payment plan, you must do so before your monthly payment is charged for that month.  If the payment has cleared, it will not be refunded.

Legal Action:  It is hoped that any disputes can be resolved between individual students and ISS staff. However, should a student decide to pursue legal action against ISS for any reason, s/he agrees that the suit will be filed in the state and county of the school’s physical location: Ravalli County, Montana.

CANCELLATIONS

If you drop out or request to cancel your payment plan but have consumed more course content than your payments logically cover, we will charge your card on file for the amount of content you consumed. For example, if you have paid only $500 in monthly payments but have consumed two full sections of course content priced at $400 each for a total of $800, we will charge your account for the remaining $300 owed for the content you consumed. Our system allows us to see exactly how much content you’ve completed and downloaded.

We take intellectual property theft very seriously and will press charges if we determine you’ve stolen materials from ISS.

BREACH OF AGREEMENT

I realize that breach of any part of this agreement shall constitute failure of the course and loss of all fees paid to Internet Scoping School and any and all benefits attached thereto.

Access can also be cancelled if a student is involved in dishonesty, such as sharing the material with someone who has not paid for it, being involved in a competing course, or other actions deemed deleterious to the ISS Scoping Course and its success.
